From Produce 48 to Platinum: Celebrating IZ*ONE’s Unforgettable Run

IZ*ONE, the dynamic South Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the electrifying reality show Produce 48, took the K-pop world by storm with their irresistible charm and undeniable talent. Comprised of twelve members—Jang Won-young, Sakura Miyawaki, Jo Yu-ri, Choi Ye-na, An Yu-jin, Nako Yabuki, Kwon Eun-bi, Kang Hye-won, Hitomi Honda, Kim Chae-won, Kim Min-ju, and Lee Chae-yeon—IZ*ONE burst onto the scene in October 2018 with their debut EP, Color*Iz.

Their debut single "La Vie en Rose" wasn't just a hit—it was a phenomenon. Within days, it topped the charts, and their EP flew off the shelves faster than you could say "K-pop sensation." Their infectious energy and killer vocals earned them accolades like New Artist of the Year, solidifying their place as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

But IZ*ONE didn't stop there. In early 2019, they crossed over to Japan with "Suki to Iwasetai," a single that not only conquered the Oricon Singles Chart but also went platinum. Talk about making an entrance! Their subsequent Japanese releases like "Buenos Aires" and "Vampire" continued to dominate the charts, cementing their status as international favorites.

Despite a hiccup with a voting scandal that put them on pause, IZ*ONE bounced back stronger than ever. Their albums Bloom*Iz and Oneiric Diary shattered records and won hearts worldwide. From topping the Gaon Album Chart to their sold-out Eyes on Me tour, they proved time and time again that they were here to stay.

Sadly, all good things come to an end, and after a whirlwind journey filled with chart-topping hits, unforgettable concerts, and endless love from their fans—known affectionately as Wiz*One—IZ*ONE bid farewell in April 2021. Their legacy lives on through their music and the lasting impact they've left on the K-pop scene.

As we look back on their journey—from the auditions of Produce 48 to their final stage—IZ*ONE's story is a testament to the power of passion, unity, and the unwavering support of their global fanbase. While their time together was cut short, the memories they created and the melodies they shared continue to resonate with fans worldwide, ensuring that IZ*ONE will forever hold a special place in K-pop history.
