GFRIEND (Korean: 여자친구) was a South Korean girl group formed by Source Music Entertainment. The group debuted on January 16, 2015, with six members: Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. They ceased activity in 2021 after their contracts expired. Eunha, SinB, and Umji later formed the group Viviz in 2022, after signing with BPM Entertainment.
Known for their powerful vocals, intricate choreography, and heartfelt lyrics, GFRIEND quickly gained popularity in the K-pop industry. They are recognized for their refreshing and youthful concept, often incorporating elements of innocence and nostalgia into their music and performances. The group still boasts over 1.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
