NAYEON is back as a solo artist for the first time in two years. A hotly anticipated comeback, the new EP entitled NA is delighting listeners all over the world. The lead single, “ABCD,” has been particularly successful, landing a total of 1.5 million streams since the EP dropped on June 13, 2024.
The song has a super early aughts vibe. It feels like its rhythm section draws from artists like Brittney Spears and Destiny’s Child in the verses but ratchets everything up to a dancefloor anthem by the time the chorus drops. NAYEON’s vocals are exquisitely produced and even more flawlessly performed.
If you like the song enough to watch the MV, the music video features an extended dance break that isn’t present in the original studio recording. The music video version clocks in at 3:41 compared to the original’s length of 2:42. It’s a really cool easter egg for fans and provides added value for those who choose to dive deeper than the Spotify cut.
