LOONA's Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry Win Contract Lawsuit Against Blockberry Creative

In a significant legal victory, LOONA's Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry have successfully won their exclusive contract lawsuit against Blockberry Creative.

On June 21,2024  the 11th Civil Division of the Seoul Northern District Court ruled in favor of the four members, formerly of the girl group LOONA. The lawsuit, filed in March 2023, initially moved forward without a response from Blockberry Creative, which eventually participated as court hearings began in December 2023.

Previously, Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry obtained a temporary injunction that suspended their exclusive contract, freeing them from restrictions on their entertainment activities. During the lawsuit, they signed with Modhaus and re-emerged as the group ARTMS, now a five-member ensemble with the addition of Haesol.

LOONA, originally a 12-member group that debuted in 2018, faced turbulence last year when member Chuu encountered financial settlement disputes with Blockberry Creative, triggering a domino effect. Other members followed suit, seeking to suspend their contracts, which has effectively led to the group's disbandment. Chuu has won her initial trials to dissolve her contract, but Blockberry Creative has appealed, with a final decision from the Supreme Court still pending.

It is sad to see a great group like LOONA disband, but we hope that it results in the best situation for all of the members involved.
