ITZY: Have Trust, Girls

Although most girl groups are known for their sweet and girly concepts, ITZY’s sound is energetic and fearless. The girl group maintains an unapologetic confident concept by emphasizing girl power, their amazing individual dance skills, and their music’s catchy lyrics.

JYP Entertainment hadn’t debuted a girl group since TWICE, and ITZY did not disappoint after the long absence of new idol groups. Before debuting on February 12, 2019, the members—Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna—gained experience along various avenues, including individual participation in reality shows. Chaeryeong and her sister failed to pass Fantagio’s auditions but found JYP through the K-pop Star 3 TV series. The group’s name, ITZY, means “to have” in Korean, promising they’ll have everything their fans expect.

ITZY’s fandom is called MIDZY, meaning “to trust” in Korean—a fitting name, given that ITZY fans can trust that the group will continue to deliver unabashed, confident music. Their songs are about self-confidence and empowerment, evident in the group’s debut track “DALLA DALLA,” which has the girls singing “I love myself!”

ITZY’s members are female warriors and each has incredible dancing skills. The choreography in “Not Shy” perfectly balances showcasing the girls as talented soloists and a synchronized group.

The group’s songs are also known for their catchy lyrics, adding to their success. Tracks like "LOCO" are full of super catchy hooks.

ITZY has taken its rightful place in the K-pop industry as a well-known girl group with an energetic sound and empowering songs. Although the group’s main vocalist, Lia, is on hiatus since 2023, because of the members’ dedication to promoting girl power, dance abilities, and infectious lyrics, MIDZY can always trust ITZY to release confident and dynamic music regardless of their lineup.
