One of the more fascinating revelations in the ADOR vs HYBE dispute was the revelation that HYBE was currently negotiating plagiarism damages with an “overseas producer” on behalf of LE SSERAFIM.
The internet is a wild thing, man. Internet sleuths have been hard at work trying to determine which of LE SSERAFIM’s songs were plagiarized. Starting with the clues that 1) the song was by LE SSERAFIM and 2) they plagiarized someone from “overseas,” fans were able to find a startlingly similar track.
Supposedly, the plagiarized track is from American hip hop producer Velous. Velous, while relatively unknown as a solo artist, is a Grammy-nominated producer who has worked on songs by Kanye West, Drake, and J. Cole. Listen for yourself below. Did LE SSERAFIM’s “Easy” rip off “Cliché” by Velous?
