Girls’ Generation Sets New YouTube Milestone with “The Boys”

Girls’ Generation has hit another major milestone on YouTube!

It is only fitting that 17 years after the group was formed we are talking about their YouTube success again. As a pioneering group in the K-Pop industry, Girl’s Generation was able to capitalize on the rise of YouTube and grow in popularity. Now we are still talking about those early videos.

Shortly after midnight KST on June 22, the music video for the Korean version of their 2011 hit “The Boys” surpassed 300 million views on YouTube. This achievement makes it the group's second music video to reach this milestone, following their iconic track “Gee.”

Originally released on October 19, 2011, the music video for “The Boys” took just over 12 years, 8 months, and 3 days to hit the 300 million mark. This makes "The Boys" Girls’ Generation’s fastest music video to achieve this milestone, breaking their previous record set by “Gee,” which took approximately 13 years, 4 months, and 15 days to reach the same view count.

Congratulations to Girls’ Generation on this impressive achievement!
