byebyesea's music defies easy categorization, encompassing influences as diverse as city pop, EDM, and rock. Vocalist Namu, bassist Woo Myung-je, and guitarist Woo Sun-jae made their indelible mark on the K-indie scene back in 2005 under the moniker I Cross the Sea with You (난그대와바다를가르네), later rebranding themselves as byebyesea (안녕바다).
Their journey into musical prominence culminated in 2009 with the release of their debut EP, Boy’s Universe, featuring the chart-topping anthem “Star Shower.” This iconic track has become a staple in Korean popular culture, gracing numerous K-drama series, variety shows, and commercials over the past decade.
It features excellent tenor vocals; thick, lush harmonies; phasing synths; and thrilling unison rhythmic hits that really drive the emotion home.
