‘GREENGREEN’ Becomes Triple Million-Seller

By Isabel Miller

Big Hit Music’s CORTIS has achieved triple million-seller status with their second mini album, GREENGREEN.

Data released by Circle Chart on July 23, 2026 states that the album has sold over three million copies worldwide since its release on May 4. While its first-week sales breached the two million mark, the number has climbed to three million just 10 weeks later – and only 11 months after the group’s debut.

The release has also achieved monumental digital figures, spending 10 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and seeing over 300 million streams on Spotify in just 77 days. The album’s title track, “REDRED,” remains on the Weekly Top Songs Global chart for its 11th week.

CORTIS has seen success since their debut mini album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, which currently sits at approximately 2.15 million sales. However, GREENGREEN has overwhelmed these previous numbers, marking the group as one of the biggest in the K-pop industry at present. So far this year, BTS’ ARIRANG is the only other album to have reached three million sales.

Both the swift and continued nature of CORTIS’ success indicates a shift in what fans are paying attention to, particularly within K-pop’s fifth generation. A Y2K, hip-hop style has appeared in the releases of numerous already established groups since CORTIS’ debut, such as BOYNEXTDOOR and EVNNE. At the same time, groups like ALL DAY PROJECT have shared a similar hip-hop element from their very first release. This is also partially owing to Western influences and an international focus, with both groups featuring members who spent time in America.

On the other hand, fans have been paying attention to CORTIS’s leader Martin and his discography as a songwriter and producer. From credits on ILLIT’s “Magnetic” and TXT’s “Deja Vu” to participating in the creation of his own group’s music, Martin is frequently commended online for his impact in establishing CORTIS as a self-produced group. With more and more idols listed on song credits, his experience as a songwriter and producer prior to his debut contributes to the trend while also adding an aspect of legitimacy to the term and making the group stand out.

CORTIS are to embark on their sold-out <PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN> North America Tour in August, following two shows at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea last weekend. It will see CORTIS performing at small theatres with an intentionally intimate atmosphere, but as their new triple million-seller status indicates, they are capable of pursuing larger concert tours in the future.
