In recent years, K-pop idols have become increasingly common guests on American talk shows, helping to bridge the gap between Korean artists and their growing U.S. fanbase. However, cultural differences can sometimes lead to awkward moments, especially when American hosts probe into aspects of their personal lives, such as relationships.

 

A few years ago, the K-pop supergroup SuperM, consisting of members from SHINee, EXO, and NCT, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In typical Ellen fashion, she asked the members about their dating lives. The group, clearly prepared for the question, all denied it with a firm "no," shaking their heads.

But Mark Lee wasn’t having it. He turned the tables and boldly asked, "Wait, why are you always curious about this though?" The members erupted in quiet applause, while Ellen was left speechless and unable to respond to Mark’s pointed question. Fans quickly praised Mark for handling Ellen's probing questions with poise and confidence.
